OCI vs passport: same size, different crop
Because both documents were long specified at 2×2 inches, applicants often reuse one photo for both. The passport print FAQ puts the face at 70–80% with both ears visible; the OCI specification centres on a full-face view at about 80% coverage. Note the passport route itself moved to ICAO 35×45 mm for GPSP 2.0 / mission applications in September 2025, while OCI stayed at 51×51 mm. Cropping separately for each document avoids an avoidable objection.
