2×2 Photo Maker — 51×51 mm

The 2×2 inch photo — 51×51 mm in metric — is the world's most reused ID format, and the most mis-served: half the pages offering it are years out of date. This maker exports a clean 600×600 px digital file, or a 1500×1500 px print file, and tiles copies onto a 4×6 or A4 print sheet at the exact millimetre size.

If your photo is for a specific document, prefer its dedicated checker (DV Lottery, U.S. visa, OCI, India passport): the outer size is the same, but the file limits and head-size rules are not.

File limits differ by documentDV Lottery / U.S. visa: JPEG ≤240 KB. OCI and India routes: see their dedicated pages — do not assume one limit fits all

Same square, different rules

A 600×600 px file that passes the DV Lottery (≤240 KB, head 50–69%) is not automatically right for an OCI application (face about 80%) or an Indian passport print (professional print, face 70–80%, both ears visible). Size is the easy part; the document pages on this site exist for the rules wrapped around it.

Frequently asked questions

How many pixels is a 2×2 photo?

For digital submission, 600×600 px is the standard export (the U.S. specification). For printing at 300 DPI, 2 inches × 300 = 1500×1500 px. Both are available in the size selector above.

Is 51×51 mm the same as 2×2 inches?

Yes — 2 inches is 50.8 mm, and the specification is written as 51×51 mm in metric countries and 2×2 in in the U.S. They are the same photo.

Is my photo uploaded to a server?

No. Cropping, resizing, compression and (where offered) background replacement all run locally in your browser. Your photo never leaves your device.
